Yarn Crawling is the New Black!

We had an exciting day yesterday.  Saw lots of Crawlers from last year and some new Crawlers too. 

We had a great party last night with Liz Abinante, the Traveling Woman.  Her pieces are beautiful and I persuaded her to let me keep a few of them to show those of you who didn't make it last night.  I have her books as well.  I love the book!  She is very thorough: written descriptions, charts and great photos.  This is the perfect place to start with lace.  She also knit a gorgeous cowl for the shop that will make a great easy project and a perfect holiday gift. 

Don't forget to ask for your free pattern.  It was so busy yesterday, we kept forgetting!  We have both a crochet and a knit pattern available.

Knit 1 invites everyone to join us for two special events during the 2nd Annual Chicagoland Yarn Crawl.

Traveling Woman Shawl

On August 19th Liz Abinante aka The Traveling Woman, joins us for a trunk show and party. Liz is the author of numerous popular patterns, including Traveling Woman and Saroyan, both of which remain in the top 20 knit patterns on Ravelry. Recently, Liz independently released the Traveling Woman Collection with astounding success. The Collection includes four Traveling Woman inspired patterns and a complete revision of the original Traveling Woman pattern. From socks and shawls to scarves and cowls, the Traveling Woman Collection provides knitters with instructions for over 40 projects with extra information on customization and sizing.

On Wednesday, August 24th Veronica Van of Dream in Color Yarns brings an array of their beautiful yarns to Knit 1. The trunk show starts at 1PM, and continues through Knit Night till 8:30. Bring your completed DIC projects for an additional 5% off on DIC yarn.
