Hard to believe the holidays are upon us once again! Never fear though there's still plenty of time to make your gifts. A couple of new yarns you might want to try for those gifts... a beautiful merino/bamboo DK by Frog Tree or if bigger is better for you an organic thick/thin from Swedish Yarns with plenty of yardage in one skein to easily make a hat or scarf. But for all our die hard Malabrigo fans the next shipment should be in the first week of December! Plenty of new and favorite colors.

If you're looking for ideas to pass on to the non-knitting gift giver in your life we have from the small: bamboo tapestry needles, silk project pouches and hand made stitch markers to the large: Jordana Paige knitting bags, della Q knitting bags and luxurious hand spun yarns of cashmere or silk or maybe even camel. For those that can't decide we always have gift certificates.

Speaking of hand spun luxury, Knit 1 is having a trunk show for Dreamland Arts Britta Cruz Saturday Dec 6 from 12-3. Britta will be on hand with her spinning wheel creating her unique yarns. One of a kind creations that will truly inspire!

Here's something else we found inspiring. Check out this rug (look at the arms in the left hand corner to give you perspective of size)! It took the wool from 18 merinos!! And check out the knitting needles that were used. Our arms are tired just looking at them!

Then there's this. A yarn rep sent it to us and we thought it was a fun idea. So even if you don't make your gifts spread the love of hand made ones! http://www.buyhandmade.org

And lastly, we try hard to maintain the hours that are posted but sometimes, as the saying goes life gets in the way. From our kids (the 2 legged and the 4 legged variety) having some sort of emergency to getting caught in bad traffic (and everything in between) we hate being late. If you arrive at the store at 1 during the week or noon on the weekends and the door is locked please go to the cafe next door and inquire, they usually know if we're going to be 5 minutes or 15 minutes late. Sit and have a coffee (on us!) we would hate to miss you. But also know that we are often times there beyond when we say we're closed and we never rush you out. It may sound corny but we care and want you to have a good experience at our store.

Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday season!!
