Seaming Techniques with Julie hoover

We are so excited to welcome prolific knitwear designer Julie Hoover to Knit 1 for the Chicago Yarn Crawl!

Possibly the most intimidating part of any pattern, the focus of this class is to cover best practices Julie uses for blocking projects and seaming garments—two essential topics that will help you raise the bar on your finishing skills.

You will need:

  • 4 identical 6” x 6” swatches in stockinette stitch worked as per handout instructions (given no later than 2 weeks prior to class).

  • 50+ yards of swatch yarn in contrasting color (or same color if preferred).

  • One pair of straight or circular needles in same size used for swatches.

  • One pair of straight or circular needles in US 0 or US 1 (2mm or 2.25mm).

  • Small gauge crochet hook.

  • Fabric clips (small hair clips, small photo clips, small fold back paper binder / paper clips, or similar).

  • Blunt tapestry needle.

Sunday July 28th, 1-4pm - $80
